The Winnetka Ice Arena utilizes the Basic Skills program endorsed by United States Figure
Skating for participants in our Learn to Skate and Free Skate classes. It is a fun, challenging and
rewarding program that will enable beginning skaters of all ages and abilities to learn the
fundamentals of the sport and begin a lifetime commitment to health and wellness.

Safety Notes: All children wearing hockey skates must wear a helmet. Tot, Youth, and Basic I skaters should wear a knit hat or helmet and
gloves or mittens.
Class Make-Up Policy
Class make-ups will be permitted under the following conditions only - absence is due to illness or if a scheduled class is cancelled. Only two
make-ups are allowed per session. Class make-ups will not be permitted during the first week of a new session or during evaluation week.
Skaters must provide the instructor with a make-up form, available at the Ice Arena office.
